INSTRUCTIONS
Use with Hammer & Punch
✔ Yes, suitable for hammer and punch use.
Always work on a solid, rigid surface (anvil, stump, or concrete floor).
Use a 2–4lb or 4lb lump hammer for best results.
Do not strike directly on the plate—always use a punch.
Anneal your metal frequently to avoid cracking.
Use with Hydraulic Press
✔ Fully compatible with hydraulic presses.
Anneal metal before pressing.
Press slowly and check depth regularly.
Intermediate annealing may be required for full impressions.
Small Flat Ingot:
Forge to cover the design, press/hammer, trim excess, anneal, and repeat.
Flat Sheet:
Use sheet thicker than the impression depth.
Thin sheet may be used with urethane or a soft metal pusher for hollow forms.
REMOVING THE IMPRESSION
Ensure the plate is clean before use.
A small drop of oil can help release the metal.
Excess metal creates a flange that helps removal.
Gently lift using a thin blade if required.
